Was a nice day

August 5th 2009 started well than one could expect, characterized by a very speed internet connection believed to be the fastest in Tanzania by now. Mr. Peik programme facilitator remembers to have seen the fastest internet connection since he started using internet in Tanzania.

The workshop was good because we finally got what we expected from it. The facilitator Mr. Peik made an introduction highlighting on what we covered previously and then proceeded with the day’s programme.

We had a very promising start as we were told by the facilitator we could create our own blogs. Personally I got it a dream come true because with this knowledge I could have a personal blog.

The facilitator took us step by step on the procedures for creating a free upload able blog through Google Bloggers. The first step was to type the term bloggers in the search box on Google web site. The term took us to list of web sites and we choose “Blogger: Create your free Blog”. From the Window we checked the yellowish button which took us to the template (window) titled “Create a Google Account”. “If you already have an e-mail address with g-mail is easier to proceed, but you can use any e-mail address you already have.

From there, it was quite simple provided that all of trainers were able to read instructions and understand steps to follow. With little assistance just in a half an hour we already had our blogs working.

Finally we started publishing and refining our blogs to the preference we thought was good for us. In short this is how the facilitator helped me and colleagues to the update skills in online journalism especially in this digital demanding world.
